Privacy Policy — Candela

This Privacy Policy explains how the Candela Android light meter (package com.uzairalimurtaza.candela, "the app", "we"), published under the Forgeline developer brand, handles information. By using the app you agree to this policy.

1. The light sensor — readings stay on your phone

Candela reads your phone's ambient light sensor to show how much light is falling on it, in lux, foot-candles or EV. The sensor needs no permission. Readings are processed on your device, in the moment. We do not store them on any server, and we do not upload or share them.

2. We do not collect personal data

The app has no account, no sign-up and no login. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, location, camera or microphone. Your settings (units, response time, calibration offset, exposure preset, theme and language) are stored only on your device.

3. Advertising — none in this version

This version of Candela shows no ads and requests none. The advertising and in-app purchase libraries it is built with are inactive, and the app collects no personal data at all.

If a future update introduces advertising (Google AdMob), this policy will be updated first, with full disclosure of the data involved, and users in the EEA/UK will be asked for consent before any ads are served.

4. Permissions

• No runtime permissions. The light sensor needs none, and the app never asks for camera, microphone, location, contacts or storage access.
• Internet / network state — declared by the libraries the app is built with and not used by this version; the app itself makes no network requests. The privacy policy link in Settings opens in your device's browser, outside the app.

5. Ratings

After a few uses the app may ask Google Play to show its standard rating card. Anything you enter there goes to Google Play under Google's privacy policy; the app never sees it.

6. Children

The app is rated for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal data from children. This version shows no advertising.

7. Data security & retention

Because we don't collect or store your data on any server, there is nothing for us to breach, sell or retain. On-device settings remain until you clear the app's data or uninstall it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.

Candela is a measurement aid. Phone light sensors are uncalibrated and many are capped by the manufacturer; readings are estimates and should not be relied upon for professional, safety or legal purposes.
